AN INTRODUCTION TO SLIM AARONS SNOW PHOTOGRAPHY

Few have captured the zeitgeist of an era quite like Slim Aarons in the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s. There’s a reason this storied photographer’s work has stood the test of time. Not only a chic addition to any home, his prints have a covetable quality – they lure the viewer in, making you feel as though you are one of them, an insider at the most exclusive party in the world. This is due to the fact Aarons never propped his scenes or employed makeup arists, but simply snapped “beautiful people doing beautiful things.” He travelled the world for 3 decades shooting for Town & Country, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and Life magazines, ingratiating himself to the finest party hosts around the world in order to document a moment in time (and a glamorous one at that).

Aaron’s Snow series is a constant inspiration for the team at Perfect Moment – as let’s face it, skiing doesn’t get much more glamorous than it did in the 1960’s. His scenes evoke a true nostalgia for the glamour of stand-up fondue parties, bouncy, well-coiffed hair, and all-white ski suits. We’ve curated a selection of our favourites below, to gear you up for the season ahead.
