WHERE IS ASPEN SKI RESORT

Aspen Mountain is a renowned ski area in the western United States, located in Pitkin County, Colorado, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The region is internationally known for its high-quality terrain, reliable snowfall and vibrant alpine culture, making Aspen ski resorts a top choice for winter sports enthusiasts from around the world.

The area is home to four major mountains and world-class resorts: Aspen Mountain (Ajax), Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass. Each offers a distinct skiing experience, from steep expert runs to family-friendly slopes and terrain parks.

Aspen consists of two main towns — Aspen Town and Snowmass Village. Both provide excellent access to the slopes, along with upscale accommodation, dining, shopping and après-ski, all while maintaining an authentic mountain atmosphere.

WHERE TO STAY

No Aspen skiing trip is complete without the perfect place to stay — and sometimes, only a classic will do. Marriot’s luxurious St. Regis Aspen Resort is the ideal setting for any ski getaway. Sitting at the base of Aspen Mountain, it’s perfectly situated between the skiing and the town, with great views in an elegant-yet-cosy setting. It’s also home to a Thai-inspired wellness spa and three restaurants. We love Supper Club at The Snow Lodge, an evening that combines delicious Italian food with cocktails and live entertainment in an intimate setting, surrounded by local artwork.
For committed skiers, The Little Nell is Aspen’s only ski in, ski out hotel, with light-filled rooms and multiple options for both formal and informal dining. They do a great coffee too, if you’re ready for a pit stop. Its best feature, though, is the rooftop pool, which has incredible views of the surrounding scenery.

WHAT TO DO

For those lucky enough to enjoy a ski holiday in Aspen, the wealth of activities on offer ensures there’s never a dull moment. Beyond the exceptional skiing, Aspen caters to every type of traveller — whether you’re chasing outdoor adventure, scenic beauty or laid-back luxury.

No visit is complete without a little retail therapy. Downtown Aspen is a hub for luxury shopping, blending designer fashion with unique local finds. We always make time for coffee and a browse at Gorsuch, the iconic ski retailer that’s been part of Aspen since 1978 and proudly stocks the latest Perfect Moment pieces.

For something more outdoorsy, the Maroon Bells Mountains are a must-see. Famous as the most photographed peaks in North America, they’re ideal for hiking, camping or simply admiring the mirror-like reflections of Maroon Lake.

Another highlight is the Silver Queen Gondola, which carries visitors to the summit of Aspen Mountain at 11,212 feet, offering access to over 75 ski trails or lunch with panoramic views at the Sundeck Restaurant. Families will love T-Lazy-7 Ranch, a family-run favourite offering snowmobiling in winter and horseback riding and fly-fishing in summer.

With so much to experience, Aspen rewards visitors year-round.

WHERE TO EAT

Aspen’s culinary scene is almost as famous as its ski slopes and there is a string of incredible restaurants to choose from. Catch Steak offers a taste of New York with its classic steakhouse vibe in a ski-appropriate setting. Go for the menu, stay for the vibes.

Founded by the iconic Chef Nobu, Matsuhisa is Japanese dining at its very best. Tucked away inside a 120-year-old Victorian House in downtown Aspen, its understated elegance is an ideal environment after a day on the slopes. Plus, if you’re a Nobu regular you’ll recognise some of their signature dishes on the menu.

APRÈS-SKI IN ASPEN

It’s no secret that we love après, but first, coffee. Always. Pre-ski, head to Gorsuch Ski Cafe, it’s right on the edge of town and does great coffee and matcha.

Aspen’s après scene is a little less infamous than some of its European counterparts, but there are still some great spots to try. Our top pick is Swiss-inspired Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro on Highlands Mountain — an Aspen hot spot since the 1970s only accessible by skis or snowboards. Go for the raclette, and stay for the post-lunch dance party.

A new addition to Aspen’s après scene, Buck has quickly become a favourite spot for casual diners and late-night revellers alike. It’s a matter of minutes on foot from Aspen Mountain Ski Resort, offering up tasty meals till midnight and drinks until 2am.

WHAT TO WEAR IN ASPEN

Aspen’s dress code, often referred to as Aspen Casual, blends practical functionality with elevated style, making it the perfect destination for standout skiwear. With unpredictable weather and freezing temperatures, dressing appropriately — without compromising on aesthetics — is essential.

Our houndstooth pieces are a natural fit for skiing in Aspen. A timeless pattern with a modern edge, the bold houndstooth print offers a refined statement against the snowy landscape while remaining effortlessly chic both on and off the slopes. Designed to be as striking as it is practical, the print adds visual interest and elevated appeal to any mountain look.

Crafted from water-resistant, performance-driven materials, these pieces are designed to keep you warm and dry whether you’re carving through fresh powder or enjoying après-ski in town. From tailored ski jackets to flattering, high-performance ski pants, the collection brings together technical innovation and iconic style.

When the lifts close, the houndstooth collection transitions seamlessly from slope to chalet. Explore our après-ski edit and elevate your Aspen wardrobe with pieces made for unforgettable mountain moments.
