Verbier, Switzerland

High in the Swiss Alps, Verbier combines world-class skiing, vibrant après-ski, and breathtaking views. From sun-drenched slopes to luxurious stays, it’s an alpine paradise. Explore Verbier and discover more ultimate destinations around the world.

With a young, adventurous, ski-mad crowd and an equally boisterous après scene, Verbier is as serious about its skiing as it is about its plush but unshowy hospitality.

Cradled by jagged peaks and golden light, Verbier sits at the edge of one of Switzerland’s most important wine-producing regions, giving the resort its sun-soaked terraces and lively post-ski culture. Whether you’re chasing powder, panoramic lunches, or legendary après nights, here’s how to make the most of it.

WHERE IS VERBIER

Verbier is a charming alpine village located in southwestern Switzerland, in the canton of Valais. Set high in the Swiss Alps, it sits on a sunny plateau above the Val de Bagnes, offering spectacular panoramic views across the surrounding peaks, including clear vistas towards the Mont Blanc massif on bright days. Its prime location and reliable snowfall have made Verbier ski holidays a popular choice for winter sports enthusiasts from across Europe and beyond.

Verbier is the main resort within the renowned 4 Vallées ski area, one of the largest linked ski domains in Europe. With over 410km of pistes spanning resorts such as Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon, the area caters to skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, from gentle beginner slopes to challenging itineraries and world-class off-piste terrain. Beyond skiing, Verbier is equally famous for its lively après-ski scene, luxury accommodation and picturesque village atmosphere, blending traditional alpine charm with a cosmopolitan feel.

WHERE TO STAY

Verbier skiing is all about luxury, style and unforgettable alpine experiences, and finding the right place to stay is key to making the most of your time in resort. Whether you’re planning indulgent Verbier ski holidays or a short break focused on après-ski and relaxation, the resort’s luxury hotels and chalets deliver comfort, design and location in equal measure.

With understated bedrooms designed by Italian interiors whizz Fabrizio Casiraghi and the most elegant cocktail bar in town, the Experimental Hotel Group’s Verbier outpost provides the perfect holiday setting, whether you’re here for the fresh powder or the après. Then there’s the beloved Farm Club Verbier in the basement where everyone who’s anyone heads after dark. Don’t believe us? David Bowie once dominated the dancefloor here.

With a notably contemporary design that might prove welcome to some after a week of rustic chalet style, the W Hotel’s Le Spa has all the mod-cons one might expect, topped off with a magnificent indoor pool and a heated outdoor pool. With ski-to-door access, we recommend a massage here after an adrenaline-filled day on the slopes.
